Embrace the magic of the holidays with Peninsula Cantare’s annual “Deck the Halls” concert! The chorus is joined by a professional brass quintet for a concert of carols and holiday favorites, as well as contemporary arrangements for choir, brass, and percussion. This concert features a world premiere carol medley and our beloved candlelight processional, plus we’ll have our annual carol sing-along, and a chance for one of our audience members to conduct. Perfect for kids from one to ninety two, bring the whole family and join us in celebrating the best time of the year!
Peninsula Cantare is thrilled to present the west coast premiere of Elaine Hagenberg’s Aeterna Via for chorus and orchestra after rave reviews at its debut in Europe this past summer. In addition, the chorus will be joined by our largest professional orchestra yet for Francis Poulenc’s epic Gloria, which masterfully evokes the mid-century modern French style that Poulenc is so well known for. Featuring critically acclaimed soprano Melissa Sondhi, we hope you’ll hear this masterpiece as if for the first time. This concert will inspire and uplift as we celebrate our collective journey toward love and healing.
Join Peninsula Cantare for an emotionally stirring season finale! The centerpiece work will be Caroline Shaw’s award-winning modern masterpiece, To the Hands. Jake Runestad’s evocative Into the Light will be the perfect complement as you’re transported by the majestic writing for chamber orchestra and choir. In addition, we will be presenting a world premiere by renowned composer and conductor Brandon Williams. Together, these works alongside favorites like “Over the Rainbow” and Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” will leave our audience both hopeful and joyous. You won’t want to miss this concert!
