Peninsula Master Chorale is founded by Carl Sitton as a community choir based at Cañada College, where singers may take the ensemble for credit.

1997

Peninsula Master Chorale is officially renamed Peninsula Cantare, under the direction of Jan Gunderson.

2004

Peninsula Cantare becomes a separate non-profit community chorus, no longer affiliated with Cañada College.

2014

Jeffrey Benson is named Artistic Director of Peninsula Cantare.

2022

Peninsula Cantare celebrates its belated 50th Anniversary with a concert of Beethoven.

2025

Peninsula Cantare adopts a new vision and mission:
Vision - A world that explores the human experience through musical storytelling.
Mission - Forging connections between diverse communities in the pursuit of choral artistry.
