Health & Safety for in-person rehearsals and concerts

  • Singers will all wear well-fitting face coverings during rehearsals. N95, surgical masks, and equivalent are strongly recommended over cloth masks, per CDC guidelines.
  • Singers are required to be fully vaccinated.
    • The board approved a booster requirement for all singers and concert attendees this spring.
  • For entrance into any in-person rehearsals or events, Peninsula Cantare requires up-to-date vaccina tion, defined as two weeks following full initial vaccination* until eligible to receive a booster and, for those eligible, one week after receiving a booster.
    • *Full vaccination is defined as completion of the two-dose regimen of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or other WHO authorized COVID-19 vaccine administered two weeks or more in advance of the concert, plus eligible boosters.
    • We understand that there may be people in our community who are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons.
    • Please let Dr. Benson know if you cannot be vaccinated.
  • Covenant Presbyterian has updated their HVAC system during the pandemic and airflow has improved for the safety of all in the space.
  • Singers who have cold or flu symptoms will be asked to stay home. Singers experiencing any symptoms are encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 as soon as they are able.
    • Singers who are suffering from seasonal allergy symptoms may attend rehearsals, but need to stay masked and may be asked to sit in the back of the rehearsal space if symptoms are severe to allay any concerns
  • Singers who believe they have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive or may be pos itive for COVID-19 must quarantine according to the recommendations from the county health department and the CDC.

Scholarships

Peninsula Cantare reduces or waives tuition fees for singers with limited incomes, such as students, at the Artistic Director’s discretion. Nearly $5,000 in tuition and fees are awarded each year. If you would like to donate specifically towards these scholarships, please click on the Donate button below.

Section Leaders

A huge thank you to our section leaders, who run sectional rehearsals, assist with questions, track attendance, and coordinate creation of fundraising items by their section.
